The Energy Efficiency Certificate
The Energy Efficiency Certificate is a proof required by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism in Spain for all homes that are going to be bought by another person.
The energy certificate of a home is an informative document necessary to sell it. This document details the energy rating that the home has obtained. This is what is known as "energy label". This rating is indicated on a scale of letters of different color that go from A, being the highest, to G, which is the lowest of all.
The letter A is colored dark green and is the one that represents the highest energy efficiency.
The Letter B is tinted lighter green still maintaining efficiency.
The letter C is painted a more yellowish green and is not as energetic as the previous ones.
The letter D is colored yellow and represents normal efficiency.
The letter E has a more orange tone and makes it clear that the property has very low energy efficiency.
The letter F is totally orange and is one of the last steps on the list.
The letter G is in red and represents a home that does not have any type of energy efficiency.
The purpose of this energy certificate is that the houses are as efficient as possible, covering all the countries of the European Union. This measure aims to detail all the energy aspects of a home, allowing to evaluate and qualify all the elements related to energy consumption that make up the home.
